Rev. Edward L. Counts called as Mission Developer by Board of American Missions.

October 3, 1965:

East Hampton Mission Group held a service at Century Bowling Lanes.

October 10, 1965:

First Sunday Church School.

October 17, 1965:

Name "Gloria Dei" (Glory ot God) selected.

November 14, 1965:

Charter Sunday.

December 19, 1965:

Service of Organization at St. Paul's Church.

April 19, 1966:

Congregation received into the Virginia Synod.

May 19, 1968:

Groundbreaking for Unit 1.

January 5, 1969:

First service in the new building (167 attended).

January 12, 1969:

Unit 1 Dedication.

September ?, 1973:

Start of Gloria Dei Lutheran School (19 students).

January 19, 1975:

Groundbreaking Unit 2.

October 5, 1975:

Dedication of the Christian Education Center.

June 3, 1979:

Dedication of Unit 3A.

December 16, 1985:

Groundbreaking for the new Nave.

September 18, 1988:

Dedication of the new Nave.

September 19, 1999:

Dedication of Sunrise House Adult Day Care Facility.

May 5, 2001:

Retirement of the church mortgage (mortgage burning).

December 10, 2002:

Groundbreaking for the Atrium connecting space.

May ?, 2005:

Purchase of property from Bill and Janet Rice.

October 21, 2005:

Installation of Nave Rose Window.

October 30, 2005:

Dedication of Atrium, Pastoral Leadership Center, and Land for Vision.

September 23, 2007:

Dedication of the Garden of the Saints.

January 12, 2008:

First Saturday Night Alive service.

December 8, 2010:

Dedication of the Chapel of the Evangelists.

July 10, 2011:

Consecration Service for the Columbarium in the Garden of the Saints.

June 7, 2015:

Dedication of the New Willow Oaks Campus.

December 19, 2015:

50th Anniversary.
